Very sad news, one of my favourite live music memories is of BJH at Liverpool University in 1972. Woolly was one of my heroes all those years ago, RIP.

It's sad but something we all have to pass through someday. I will always remind you and love your unique style. Thank you Woolly for your beautiful melodies and arrangements and for being part of this world.

I loved the music. I've never thought of BJH, or Woolly, as progressive. Just a great band and talented songwriters and musicians. A sad loss.

I met Woolly along with John & Mark Powell whilst making the Shepherds Bush DVD.They came to my edit suite in Wigan & spent the afternoon going through the edit.We were working but we had a laugh.I've had many bands attend edit sessions & many are sour. What struck me was all were good people no trace of "the big I am" from anyone. Woolly was especially witty, warm, funny, full of terrible jokes & creative.Of course I hardly knew him.but I really liked him.
Thinking of all his friends & family at this sad time.

i first heard 'hymn' in 1977. in subsequent years, i don't think anyone interchanged prog with punk as much as i did.
but bjh were my first musical love. was just listening to 'she said' on my lastfm and happened to read the biography.
stunned.
r.i.p., and thank you.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to his friends and family. BJH music was such a very big part of my teenage years growing up in Blackpool. Still play it all now. Gone from LP's to tapes to CD's to MP3 player. The music is forever. Lovely to read all the memories listed in this book of condolences. Touching also, to see the message from RJG after all the years of separation. Maybe the Enid, John and Les could perform again as a tribute to Woolly and Mel. RIP.

Such a sad loss to music, that Mocking Bird is surely very sad today. A tribute to a poor man's Moody Blues.
