such very sad news, for me Woolly was the reason i loved the band through his eloquent songs and exultant keyboards, i am so pleased i saw him the once with John at City varieties Leeds a couple of years ago and even with a heavy cold his wit and genius shone through.

Woolly, you will be sadly missed by anyone who heard your music or saw you perform, as I was always keen to do, from that early seventies first time in Cardiff to Cheltenham earlier this year. Your maestro musicianship on keyboards and Devil's banjo (12 string acoustic) will remain with me, and whilst I'm sad, I hope that you will now find peace. All our thoughts are for your relatives and friends.

This is a great shock - a great loss to family, friends, fans. Wooly graced the stage with everything from the sublime to the ridiculous.

He has penned some ageless tunes.
