BJH has been and still is a major part of my enjoyment of music, Woolly's solo work has also a part in this.
A sad untimely death and he will be greatly missed.

How sad to read about the loss of Woolly. My sympathies to his family. So much has happened since "Early Morning Onwards". I remember the young Woolly when I first saw BJH at Plymouth soon after release of "Everyone is Everybody Else". Must have been late 1974. Since then I have followed BJH as well as Maestoso. Thanks Woolly for the beautiful music. It will surely live on for a long long time to come.

By bye to the soul of the early BJH sound. Very the sad to hear that the second member of this great band passed away. Hope you will make some more beautiful noise with Mel in heaven. I only had the luck to hear Woolly once in 1999 together with John and remembered the very first album I bought in 1978 at the age of 16 - "Live tapes" My very first concert in 1979 was in Duesseldorf and the following years unfortunately without Woolly. Missed his playing very much in this years.

Saw BJH at the Troubadour in Los Angeles sometime in the late 70's. Between sets, there was Wooly at the bar, so I offered to buy him a Guinness and talk some mellotron, and as it turned out, gardening. We had a few, got to giggling, and I convinced him to play Mockingbird in the second set using choir instead of strings. He did it, smiling all the way through, and it worked. Those were the days, folks. Thank you for a memorable evening, Stuart (by evening's end, we were far past nicknames, and calling each other our full birth names), some brilliant mellotron playing, and your tip on fish guts that benefit my tomatoes to this day. RIP
